Luxury Everest Base Camp trek packing List:

Base layers:

For Everest Base Camp Trek base layer cloth is very important for higher elevation. In lower elevation like Lukla(2850m) Namche(3440m) they will not necessary in the high season of trekking. please try to pack wicking moisture clothes and wool base layers. 

Insulation layer: 

The second layer of cloth also necessary depends on the season. we suggest a fleece jacket with lightweight.

Outer layer:

This is a warm layer used in the higher elevation of the trek because there the weather is very cold all season. A down jacket of negative 10 degrees will be recommended for all trekkers by Mission Himalaya Treks And Expeditions PVT LTD.

Trekking Trousers:

Mission Himalaya Treks and Expeditions Expert suggest you take 2* pair of hiking trousers and 1 pair of short stretched trousers for the luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Trekking shirt:

We suggest 3 to 5 pairs of short and long shirt mix sets which are lightweight and fabric is better. 

Waterproof Jacket and trousers:

 please in your luxury base camp packing list  Rain and snow protection gear need to add. A waterproof good quality jacket. but the trousers normal is fine. 

Underwear:

At least 2 to 4 pieces of moisture-wicking underwear necessary for hiking. sporty underwear is the best choice for this trekking. 

Headwear:

A good quality trekking hat or cap and a warm hat or beanie for cold wear will be recommended by mission Himalaya treks and expeditions Pvt ltd.

Neck Gaiter:

A gaiter makes your face and neck warm in cold altitude and dusty places. A cheap quality gaiter also fine for any trekking.

Gloves:

Light inner gloves and outer insulated gloves which must be waterproof and durable can be suggested by MHT for Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge trekking.

Footwear:

Another most important gear for the Everest base camp luxury trek is footwear. frostbite protection is our one goal for all trekkers. a pair of comfortable trekking boots that must be waterproof or Goretex and good quality with a pair of warm quality socks will be necessary for Everest Base Camp Trek. For day hiking in lower elevation, you can use sports shoes. A sandal we will recommend you to bring for the teahouse stay period. Note: Be remember that do not bring very new shoes it makes the foot blister. so use it at least 1 week before trekking. warm thermal SOCKS. GAITERS, SANDALS, AND HIKING SHOES IS BETTER IF YOU ADD THIS IN YOUR PACKING LIST OF EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK.

Bags and Backpacks:

A duffel bag or 50-70 ltr backpack will be recommended for porters and a day backpack for your personal use in hiking 20-40 ltr with rain cover we will suggest for the Mission Himalaya Treks Everest Base Camp Trek packing list.

Sleeping Bag:

A good quality sleeping bag around negative 10 to 20 degree will be better for Everest Base Camp luxury Trekking. We suggest you bring a sleeping bag liner if you have. If you do not have we will give you a sleeping bag which you need to return us after complete your trekking. \

Ear Plugs:

To protecting Snoring of your teammate or from another room trekker earplug is the good packing gear for Everest Base Camp.

Trekking Poles:

Most of the trekkers who like to Everest base camp bring a trekking pole in their hike. So for your less stress please you can pack a pair of trekking pole for this trek. 

Sunglasses:

UV Protector sunglass with the light reduction in must necessary gear for Nepal all snow Himalaya mountain trekking.

Headlight:

Every guesthouse they have a light but some higher elevation the power of light not enough. so at night they off all light. Mountain is a remote place for the toilet and other issues like a sunrise hike to Kalapatthar 5545 m you need to bring a headlight with an extra pair of good quality batteries you must bring in Everest Base Camp Trek.

 Hydration Bladder /water bottle:

To protect your dehydration in Mission Himalaya Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek and prevention of AMS you need to drink water so, please add 2 water bottle one for cold water and another for hot water. or hydration bladder is easy to carry or drink cold water from your backpack. 

Towel:

Most of the teahouse in the Everest region does not provide a towel for trekkers so please for your personal use in the bathroom put 1 towel for your Everest base camp packing gear.

Lock: 

For your belongings safety Mission, Himalaya Treks suggest you bring 2 locks - one for porter luggage and another for your backpack for your valuable goods, passport, and money. 

Waterproof Bag:

You can bring a waterproof bag or some plastic bag to save your valuables (camera mobile passport, documents) from the water like sweating or wet by rain.

Camera:

A good quality camera with lots of memory cards and pairs of batteries will better bring for EBC  trek for memory in the future. Or recall for other trekking with Mission Himalaya Treks and Expeditions PVT LTD. You can show good pictures with your friends and relatives.

Portable chargers:

Everyplace anytime you can not charge your battery. so please bring a portable charger for your personal use of mobile. 

Books Cards, Passport, Money:

Book and cards can be used for fun in your teahouse rest time except for your trekking period. Please bring Enough cash and change in NPR local currency in Kathmandu before start trekking with MISSION HIMALAYA Treks. Because trekking EBc is a remote place you cannot change USD in good exchange rates and there is no ATM in trekking places. Only LiUkla ANDF Namche you can find some ATM but it's not working much time. 

Insurance:

Trekking in mountain or in higher Elevation is high risk. so buy a good insurance policy and bring a copy of it which covers at least 5600m and with emergency coverage of helicopter evacuation. 

Some Medications and Toiletries:

Some water purification tablets or drops will be recommended for your luxury Everest base camp trek. Some isotonic powder and oral rehydration powder, Diamox, normal first-aid kit we suggest to add is your packing gear of Everest Base Camp Trek.

Suncream, Wipes, Toilet paper:

Mission Himalaya Treks And Expeditions suggest you bring some roll of toilet paper, Suncream SPF 50 or more, lip balm SPF 50 or more, and some wet wipes add in your Everest base camp packing gear. 

Toothpaste and Toothbrush also add in your packing list. 

Blister plaster, Oximeter and hand sanitizer:

Please note that if your oximeter shows your oxygen level less then 70% you can consult with your Mission Himalaya Treks Guide for your next days trekking or back immediately in the day from that altitude to lower altitude. Hand sanitizer you can use before eating breakfast lunch and dinner time. blister in the in your feet blister comes you can use blister plaster. 

Everest Base Camp Trek FAQS:

1, Can I stay overnight at Everest Base Camp?

Mission Himalaya Treks And Expeditions PVT LTD luxury Everest base camp trek do not stay Everest base camp overnight because to stay overnight at base camp we need to buy special permits which is very expensive. only Everest base camp climbers stay there. You stay overnight at Gorakshep(5180m) and a day hike to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakshep for overnight sleeping.

2, Where I can have a shower during the Everest Base Camp Trekking?

You can take shower in every lodge where you stay. Many of the tea houses have a gas shower and you need to pany tUS$3 to US$ 6 per shower per person. The shower cost in lower elevation is cheaper and increasing to upper elevation because they bring the gas from Lukla. The gas brings by airplane to Lukla and the porter carries it until base camp. In lower elevation, some tea houses have a solar shower and electric heater shower. 

3 where we can charge our phone and battery/

We can charge the battery in every tea house but you can charge only in the dining hall. You can charge phone cameras and other small electronic devices with extra cost US$ 2 to US$5 depends upon the device and elevation you stay. Some tea houses have electricity some have solar charging. 

4, Where wifi available in Everest base camp trekking?

Almost each and every tea houses have wifi available and they charge the extra cost for using wifi. Many tea houses have wifi services of the Everest link prepaid wifi card. you can buy the wifi card and can use all the tea houses of Everest base camp trek.  

5,   What is the Average size of the group for Everest Base Camp Trek?

We can organize the groups from 1 to 15 people in one group. if the number of travelers more than 15 we divide into 2 groups handling by two experienced guides and other numerous assistant guides. The group can be a mix of different individuals, couples, or friends traveling together. Mission Himalaya Treks And expeditions like to organize a private trip of your own group rather than join you to other individuals. 

6, Best time to trek Everest Base Camp?

The first season Is called Spring(From March beginning to May ending) is the warmest trekking season. another dry season is Autumn(September to November) is the best time to trek Everest base camp. At that time the sky is clear and the busiest and crowded time for the trek. 

December January and February is the winter season in Nepal. Snow covers in high elevation. The temperature decreases until negative 15 to 30 degrees. 

June July August is called the worst season for trekking to Everest Base Camp trek. Because that time many chances to cancel your flight to and from Lukla. It's quiet to trek ion this season. and many flower blossoms. But some trails slippery by raining and many leeches in lower elevation. Sometime Lanslide can happen. 

7, How big are our staff members?

Mission Himalaya Treks and Expeditions normally organize the staff crews depends on your group size. mainly you have a main trekking leader or guide and a porter sharing with two paying persons. if your group size more than 4 people we organize trek with other assistant guides and if you have more than 8 people 1 main trekking leader and 2 assistant guide and 4 porters or sherpa. 

8, How I can pack my staff lightly?

For the domestic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and return there is an allowance of 10 kgs luggage and 5 kgs hand carry. Choose lightweight clothing during the trekking. If your weight of luggage more than 15 you need to pay an extra US$ 1 per kgs for flight. 

Note: do not bring heavy toiletries like Shampoo conditioner body shampoo, laundry wash handwash, you bring an organic brand of all in one to decrease the weight. 

8, Do I need to bring my own sleeping bag and down jacket or the company provide us freely?

Better you bring your own sleeping bag and down jacket by yourself. in case if you do not have and need to buy only for this trek do not buy. Mission Himalaya Treks and Expeditions provide you a free sleeping bag and down jacket for your trek but you need to return back after complete the trek. you can bring your sleeping bag liner. 

9, How can I leave my excess luggage in Kathmandu?

You can leave your excess backpack in Kathmandu in your hotel or our office freely. There you no need to pay extra cost for deposit luggage. but please after deposit your luggage you take a luggage deposit tag. After complete your trek to Everest Base Camp, you can take a bag by showing this tag.

10, can I wear short cloth during my hike and in city sightseeing?

Honestly, you can wear short clothes and leggings in Kathmandu and during trekking but Mission Himalaya Treks suggest you wear the cloth which is shorts but cover until your knees. if you dress inappropriately the people of the city and mountain feel embarrassing.

11, Can I take a short hike in Kathmandu instead of the Everest base camp long trek? 

Yes, there are numerous hikes around Kathmandu. you can hike there. or after complete trekking, if you like a small hike around Kathmandu you can choose some of them from here Day hike around Kathmandu.

12, Can I pay Tips? Why do I need to pay? Trip price did not include tips why? 

When you choose Mission Himlayaa Treks And expeditions for your trekking and tour in Nepal we do not force to give tips for your crews. But generally, tips expected and not compulsory need to pay. but culturally prevalent in Kathmandu or Pokhara or all over Nepal/ Honestly tips is a kind of thanks from you to our staff when they did good jobs for you. Their service and efforts what they doing for you were great then you can pay tips. we suggest you give the tips individually better than all give to your leader and distribute.

13, Where I can exchange my foreign currency to local currency?

We suggest you do not exchange your currency to the airport counter because their currency rate is lower than in other places. you can exchange your currency all over Kathmandu in money changer they give you a good rate. or you can exchange banks. please do not bring all currency without exchange for trekking. because the rate is very low is trekking lodges. Because they need to back the city to exchange. 

14, How I can choose the best trekking company?

15, How difficult is Everest Base Camp Trek?

Everest Base Camp trek is a Moderate trekking destination of Nepal as categorized trekking in Nepal. Normal physical fitness people can do this trek. Do not think the sporty people can do this. An average of people who can trek 5 to 7 hours in a day can finish the Everest base camp trek. No need for a big technical issue to trek Everest base camp because it is not climbing to the Everest summit. Just trek until base camp and return from there. 16: What is the shortest time(itinerary) to Everest base camp trek?

The shortest itinerary for a classic Everest base camp trek is 12 days with acclimatization days. if you do not like to acclimatization it takes 10 days. But some people have a very limited time frame or holidays but if they like to do Everest base camp they can finish in 9 days with acclimatization. 7 days without acclimatization. 17, can child and old aged people trek to EBC?

A good question about the traveling Everest base camp aged. normally the person who is physically fit can trek to Everest base camp. normally the acute mountain sickness can affect old aged people more than children. children below 20 to 10 they have less possibility to affect. so from child 10 years to old people 65 we suggest to do Everest Base camp trek and we have success experience in this aged group people.
