Chitwan was declared a National park in 1973. In 1984, UNESCO designated it as Natural World Heritage Site. The Chitwan National park offers protection to 56 species of mammals including the one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal Tiger, leopard, sloth bear, wild elephant, striped hyena, Genetic dolphin, and wild bison.
There are an estimated species of birds, 126 species of fish, 590 species of butterflies, and 47 species of reptiles in the park. The Chitwan National Park is spread over an area of 932 sq. km and located in the lowlands of the kingdom. The forest cover is predominantly Sal (a kind of tree which mainly find in a mountain area), interspersed with tall grasslands, small hills, ox-bow lakes, and flood plains.

One night 2 days Chitwan jungle safari packages:
Day 01, during your arrival in Chitwan we will pick you up from Sauraha tourist bus park or from the local bus park (Naranghat or Tandi) or Bharatpur airport. Then we will transfer to you the resort located in Sauraha the offers you refreshments. Then we will brief you about the packages. Then you can check in your room. then below our programs:

Then visit the National Park Visitor's center where you can learn more about the history of the National Park and about wildlife. In the evening we can enjoy the sunset view from the bank of Rapti River with drinks.

07:00 Canoe ride along the Rapti River( canoe means a kind of boat made by huge single tree wood). This is An excellent opportunity not only for Bird Watching but also for seeing the 2 rare species of crocodiles (the Marsh Mugger and the fish-eating Gharial). Also, you can join in elephant bathing and jungle walk on this tour today.
15:00 Elephant Safari. An excellent opportunity to see four different kinds of deer, rhinoceros, wild boar, monkey, leopard, sloth bear, and the Royal Bengal Tiger.
19:00 Slides show presentation of Tharu culture.
06:00 Wake up call.
07:00 Visit to the Government Elephant Breeding Centre.

Day to Day Itinerary
Day 01: drive to Chitwan from Kathmandu by tourist bus, privet jeep comes to pick you up from Bus Park to hotel. After check in the hotel have lunch and jungle guides take you to jungle walk elephant safari and nature walk with the boat ride and back to the hotel.
Day 02: After breakfast, we take to jungle walk through grassland and forest upstream of the Narayani River. We back to the hotel on a boat to observe crocodiles along the banks. We take lunch at about one and take rest. We will go to the elephant bathing. And then we go for Elephant safari,
Day 03: Wake Up Call followed by tea/coffee, Bird Watching, Breakfast, and final Departure to Kathmandu.
