Annapurna Circuit Short Trek

Annapurna Short Circuit Trek has been opened to foreign trekkers since 1977. You cannot forget this trip in your entire life. This 2-week trekking starts from a long drive from Kathmandu to Besishahar and go alone the Marshyangdi River with the great view of Manaslu, Himalchuli and Lamjung Himal. The full scenery is breathtaking which is the most incentive trekking destination of Nepal. The highest point is the Throng-la Pass (5416m), the highest pass in the world. After crossing this difficult pass visit the Muktinath (the highest temple in Nepal), the trek goes down to Apple city Markha and Jomsom.

In the Short Circuit trek, you can make many records of yourself! You can see the world’s 2 highest and most popular mountains, the Manaslu(8163m), Dhaulagiri 1st (8167m), visit Nepal’s highest temple and go along the world’s highest pass. Moreover, you can have a touch of Tibetan village, villages with both Hindus and Buddhists culture, beautiful rivers and forests…all these make your trip unforgettable and memorable.

Mission Himalaya Treks and Expeditions Pvt Ltd organizes the throughout the year but the best month to trek in Annapurna is September-November and March-May. Sometimes the pass will be closed due to heavy snow in winter time. At the end of the trekking, because of road construction, some trails are dusty and so that you may need to take a flight or bus from Jomsom back to Pokhara.

Suggested 10 days itinerary for Annapurna Short Circuit Trekking

Here are 10 days suggested itinerary for Short Annapurna Circuit Trekking. It is just a suggested one, you can customize the itinerary as per your need. 

Day 01: Kathmandu - Jagat (1 100 m/3 608 ft): 8-10 hrs drive
Day 02: Jagat - Dharapani (1 960 m/6 430 ft): 5-6 hrs
Day 03: Dharapani - Chame (2 710 m/8 891 ft): 5-6 hrs
Day 04: Chame - Pisang (3 300 m/10 824 ft): 5-6 hrs
Day 05: Pisang – Ngawal (3 660 m/12 008 ft): 4-5 hrs
Day 06: Ngawal – Manang (3 540 m/11 615 ft): 3-4 hrs.
Day 07: Manang - Yak Kharka (4,110 m/13,484 ft): 3-4 hrs
Day 08: Yak Kharka - Thorung Phedi (4,600 m/15,092 ft): 3-4 hrs
